Arran gehört zu den jüngsten Destillerien Schottlands und ist auf der gleichnamigen Insel beheimatet. Die erste Abfüllung - eben der Arran First - wurde im Jahre 1995 destilliert und nach neun Jahren in insgesamt 2´784 Flaschen abgefüllt.
1. Stufe - Destillerie
Die Destillerie verfügt trotz ihres jugendlichen Alters bereits über eine mittlere Marktfähigkeit und gilt mit einer Jahreskapazität von 750´000 Litern als kleinere Destillerie.
2. Stufe - Abfüller
Die Arran First Distillation ist, wie es sich für die erste Scotch Abfüllung einer Destillerie gehört, von der Brennerei selbst abgefüllt worden. Die Abfüllung wurde nicht kaltfiltriert und mit 46% Vol. in 2´784 Flaschen abgefüllt.
3. Stufe - Spezielle Eigenschaften der Abfüllung
Der Arran First Distillation ist heute nur noch schwer erhältlich und gilt z.B. in Deutschland als ausverkauft. Positiv für die Bewertung kommt der offensichtliche Exklusivitäts-Charakter der ersten Abfüllung hinzu.

Nase: warm, leicht süsslich, Anflüge von Salz.
Gaumen: Klar, Toffee, cremig, flüchtige Erinnerung an Bananen.
Abgang: Lang, beruhigend, balanciert.

Arran is one of the youngest distilleries in Scotland and resides on the island of the same name. The first scotch distillation took place in 1995. Nine years later, the bottling produced 2´784 bottles.
1. Level - Distillery
In spite of the young age of the distillery, Arran has already an average marketability. With an annual capacity of 750´000 liters, the distillery ranks among the smaller companies.
2. Level - Bottler
The Arran First Distillation was distilled by the distillery itself. Previous to the bottling, no chill filtration was used.
3. Level - Special characteristics of the bottling
These days the single malt is hard to find and i.e. sold out in Germany, which is also due to the fact, that this bottling was the first ever released.

Out of the evaluation results a rating of 28 points.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Warm, slightly sweet, a hint of salt.
Palate: Clean, toffee, Creamy, an elusive hint of bananas
Finish: Long, soothing, balanced
