Billy Walker, the new owner of GlenDronach Distillery has selected five vintages for their first series of single cask bottlings since taking over the distillery last year.
In Batch One they have singled out malts from 1971, 1972, 1992, 1993 and 1996 in ages ranging from 13 to 38 years. All five are in the traditional GlenDronach style - richly sherried, from Oloroso Sherry Butts - and are being bottled this month.
According to Alistair Walker, Regional Sales Director, before the launch of Batch one, there were only a few single cask bottlings from GlenDronach. As a consequence, GlenDronach will repeat the single cask bottling each year.
Within Batch one the following single malts were bottled:
1971, 38 years old, cask 483
1972, 37 years old, cask 719
1992, 16 years old, cask 1140
1993, 16 years old, cask 523
1996, 13 years old, cask 193
The Whisky Investor Recommendation
Instead of chasing the previous (under the former owner) bottlings, interested Whisky investors should consider to invest in Batch one releases.
